From the part numbers on the package, TAG D2 450 800 , I took a guess on the typical specifications as I could not find a vintage TAG Semiconductors parts catalogue. I used a ST BTA16-800CW with a blocking voltage of 800V and an RMS current of 16A.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1010\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-1010x1024.jpg\" alt=\"Finished PCB\" class=\"wp-image-359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-1010x1024.jpg 1010w, https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-296x300.jpg 296w, https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-768x778.jpg 768w, https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-1515x1536.jpg 1515w, https:\/\/darylwhite.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC_0561_r-2021x2048.jpg 2021w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1010px) 100vw, 1010px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The motor is now working well unloaded and is surprisingly loud at max speed (28,000 rpm).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watch this space for a reverse engineered circuit diagram.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The following pictures show the new components and the completed board.
